The individual in this role is primarily responsible for the timely verification of medical insurance benefits. The Insurance Verification Specialist works under direct supervision to ensure that data is captured and filed in a timely and accurate manner. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Timely verification of medical insurance benefitsCalling private insurance companies, Medicare and Medicaid to obtain benefit informationDetermining insurance compatibility with healthcare provider programsUpdate and refile claims as neededCoordinate with patients regarding their insurance benefits and medical providers programsRe-verify existing patient insurance coverage as neededDetermine if an insurance benefit plan considers selected products appropriate based on patient needAdditional duties as necessary to ensure the proper verification of medical insurance for patient accountsOther duties as assigned
