Shift:8:30am - 5:00pm (Monday through Friday)Salary Range: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00/ Annual SalaryEssential Functions:• Prepare and maintain personnel records and reports• Assist in developing and updating policies and procedures as directed by HRD• Obtain required documents from contract sites timely• Ongoing follow-up and communication with site managers and Contract Administrators• Review forms/documents to insure most current ones are being used• Determine that all required documents have been received and are in compliance with Agency policies and in compliance with all regulations including Ability One regulations• Prepare personal files and complete checklist of required documents• Enter required information in Ultipro and verify updates• Inform recruiter of site employee needs; maintain updated open positions list for site• Understand and optimize Chimes DC mission, vision, and services• Assist in operationalizing human resource systems and procedures• Receive background investigation reports from Recruiter, analyze the data received and review with HR Director as needed• Maintain up-to-date understanding of employment law, SCA Guidelines and SourceAmerica compliance• Travel to contact sites as required• Provide advice and counsel supervisors/managers on employee issues as they relate to compliance with regulations and laws• Review and prepare Employee Communications/Corrective Actions from contract sites for accuracy and completeness• Conduct internal investigations for incidents of misconduct, claims of sexual harassment and harassment• Investigate and resolve employee complaints, union grievances and conduct internal investigations• Complete required documents of Unemployment Compensation for assigned areas• Participate in Unemployment Compensation hearings on and off site• Utilize the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed in order to review, handle, and finalize terminations of contract site employees according to Chimes DC policies and procedures• Maintain contact with contract sites to determine their employee and paperwork needs• Be available to assist Chimes DC employees with questions and problems• Work cooperatively with others including staff, supervisors, administrators, co-workers, site employees, Agencies, community professionals, customers, vendors, and the public• Communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with all levels of staff• Use technology for the completion of specified job duties• Attend work regularly according to assigned work schedule and in accordance with Agencypolicy• Attend and participate in in-services training, staff meetings, and other activities to facilitate professional development• Follow instructions• Prepare reports as requested• Communicate with HR Director, team members, trainers, and site management to ensure all needs are met• Complete required in-service training, including, but not limited to, OSHA Standards, Fire Safety and other safety precautions as directed by Human Resources Secondary Functions:• Assist recruiter in the employment process by placing ads, screening, interviewing, doing reference checks and monitoring required paperwork and associated documentation when directed by HRD• Communicate with recruiter regarding recruitment strategies for contract sites• Communicate benefit information to employees• Ensure benefit documents are completed and maintained• Maintain Workers Compensation records and submit records• Assist with the interviewing, hiring, and on-boarding procedures as directed by HRD• Represent Chimes District of Columbia at various functions and events• Assume other duties, responsibilities and special projects as required *Duties, responsibilities, and tasks may change at of residence and ability to drive• License must have been valid for at least 3 years• If driving a 15 passenger van, must be at least 25 years old• Acceptable driving record as determined by Agency's insurance carrier and by Chimes DC policies and procedures Essential Personnel:This position is designated as essential. This means that when the facility is faced with an emergency, employees in this position may be required to remain at their work location or to report to work to protect, recover, and continue operations at the facility Education:• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Social Sciences, Education or related field• Valid CPR/FA certification preferred• Knowledge about regulations for MSDS, Fire and Safety, Hazard Communications and Bloodborne Pathogens Experience:• Two years of experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred• Four years of experience in education, training, or human resource development• Bi-lingual preferred• Excellent team-building, organization and leadership skills• Familiarity with custodial operations a plus• Ability to earn the respect and confidence of Chimes District of Columbia staff Notes:• At the discretion of the Personnel Officer, additional related experience and/or education may be substituted in lieu of the requirements specified above under Education and ExperienceWhat's in it for you?
