SCOPE OF ROLE

Under the supervision of the Office Director and Clinical Supervisor, and in alignment with an executed affiliation agreement from the intern's College or University, participate in treatment plan development, assessment and treatment services with clients and/or their families.

HOW YOU'LL SUCCEED

• Observe and, when appropriate, conduct diagnostic assessments and assist in the admission process for new clients.
• Conduct Group and/or Individual therapy sessions.
• Maintain client charting in accordance with Medicaid, JCAHO, ODADAS, OMHAS and professional standards.
• Prepare all documentation for discharge and aftercare referral.
• Maintain clear communication between placement and college/university.
• Participate in all Quality Assurance and Utilization Review activities.
• Knowledge of and ability to utilize therapeutic techniques and evidence-based practices supported by the agency including motivational interviewing.
• Obtain and maintain trainee licensure while keeping ethical standards.
• Progressive development of scope of practice that effectively meets the needs of the clients we serve.
• Computer literate.
• Assist in crisis intervention.
• Comply with all agency policies and procedures.
• Maintain all aspects of HIPAA, promoting patient confidentiality and right to privacy.
• May be required to perform telehealth services as determined by Signature Health.
• Adherence and completion of compliance training provided by Signature Health.
• Responsible for and completes all productivity/documentation requirements.
• Participate in all assigned staff meetings and staff development programs.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• Currently registered with the Ohio CSWMFT Board as a Counselor Trainee (CT) or Social Work Trainee (SWT).
• Prefer undergraduate degree in social services field.
• Prefer some knowledge of the disease concept of chemical dependency, chemical dependency treatment, and group dynamics.
• Prefer some knowledge of integrated care.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office/clinical work environment.
• While hours of operation are generally standard, flexibility to work evenings and extended hours may be required.
• Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens while performing job duties.
• Requires periods of sitting, standing, telephone, and computer work.
• Hearing: adequate to hear clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.
• Speaking: adequate to speak to clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.
• Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
• Physical effort required: occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 15 pounds, unassisted.
• Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens while performing job duties.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular workday.
• Sufficient dexterity to operate a PC and other office equipment.
