Purchasing Director (Project Management)
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise purchasing and transportation activities across the company.
Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, shipping companies, and cargo insurance providers.
Liaise with branches on product quotes, product searches, and knowledge.
Monitor vendor and shipper claims, and assist in product liability litigation.
Ensure compliance with the Lacey Act and FSC certification requirements.
Develop and manage supplier performance evaluations.
Oversee the product database and maintain product category structure.
Keep senior management informed of industry news and market conditions.
Bachelor's degree in management, business administration, or a related field preferred, but not required.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably at least three years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of the building materials industry.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
