Associate Director, Healthcare Technology Development Location: Tonawanda, NY Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a Associate Director, Healthcare Technology Development to join our team! The Healthcare Technology Development (HTD) Director, positioned within the Clinical Team, is focused on driving the pipeline of NOxCARE/Noxivent device/consumables product portfolio through two channels - continuous improvement of currently approved devices and the development of new medical devices. The HTD director will be responsible for a full range of development processes, planning and project management. The HTD director will work closely with R&D, Legal/Regulatory, Quality, IT, Operations, Clinical Education and Marketing to document/test ideas for new products, offerings, and services for the Clinical Team. The position requires consistent alignment and leadership with other departments; bringing together other business units within Linde and leading these teams through a timely development process that meets both regulatory and commercial expectations. The position requires attention to detail and the ability to act with a strong sense of urgency. This person gets things done - nothing "fizzles out" under their watch. Successful candidates should understand the medical device testing/development process and have experience leading multidisciplinary teams through this process. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously is necessary. What we offer you! - Competitive compensation - Comprehensive benefit plan (medical, dental, vision and more) - 401(k) retirement savings plan - Paid time off (vacation, holidays, PTO) - Employee discount programs - Career growth opportunities What you will be doing: - Develops life-cycle plans for current products and those in development based on commercial needs (market demands) as well as corporate direction. - Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills - has a strong sense of "teamwork" and thrives in that environment. - Strong project management skills - familiar/fluent with Microsoft Project or other similar project planning/tracking tools - Able to review/edit clear and concise technical reports and analyses, protocols, work instructions, manuals, and other documents. - Adept at negotiating and evaluating third party vendors for support services. - Familiar with and able to interpret medical device regulations and willing to work with regulatory colleagues to optimize technical development strategy with regulatory needs in mind. - Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, peers, customers, and others. - Develops a team of colleagues that can assemble test systems and protocols for verification/validation testing based on medical device product requirements and specifications. - Able to lead colleagues in writing protocols, conducting experiments and gathering support data collection and analysis. - Comfortable with troubleshooting complex theoretical and practical problems. - Willing to take ownership of prioritized projects and push them through to completion. - Willing to proactively consult other functional representatives for information, resources and guidance as needed. - Understands that time is of the essence and brings an appropriate sense of urgency to all work product. - Able to identify and prioritize continuous improvement opportunities for the medical device product line. - Willing to provide support services to the clinical team, quality, regulatory, marketing, legal, and management to maintain and grow the medical device product line. - Experience with medical device development programs and the regulatory submission process is required. - Experience with medical device design and software development preferred. - Understands that much of the activity of this position is confidential externally and even to some internal customers and maintains that confidentiality. - The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position.
