Merchandising Analyst (Creative Design)
Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Reporting:
Analyze sales, inventory, and merchandising data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Provide actionable insights to the merchandising and category management teams to optimize product assortments and pricing strategies.
Dashboard Development & Maintenance:
Build and maintain interactive dashboards inPower BIto visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales, margin, inventory turnover, and customer purchasing behaviors. Ensure dashboards are accurate, up-to-date, and tailored to meet the needs of various stakeholders.
AI and Predictive Analytics:
Utilize AI tools to create predictive models for demand forecasting, pricing strategies, and customer behavior analysis. Apply machine learning techniques to uncover patterns and automate repetitive tasks.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with category managers, store teams, and supply chain partners to support merchandising decisions. Present findings and recommendations in a clear, concise manner to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Data Management & Quality Assurance:
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across systems. Develop and maintain documentation for data workflows, processes, and dashboard usage.
Core Competencies:
Technical Proficiency:
Advanced knowledge ofMicrosoft Excel(including pivot tables, macros, and complex formulas). Expert-level skills inPower BIincluding DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and Power Query for creating and maintaining dynamic dashboards. Strong SQL skills for querying and managing data. Knowledge of database systems and ETL processes. Experience in AI and machine learning tools for data analysis.Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex datasets and extract actionable insights. Attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity.Communication Skills: Ability to translate data-driven insights into clear and impactful presentations. Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.Business Acumen: Understanding of retail operations, merchandising strategies, and customer purchasing behaviors is a plus. Knowledge of inventory management and supply chain principles.Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
Requirements
BS Degree in Business Management, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related field 2+ years of experience in a merchandising, retail, or data analytics role Proven experience withExcel,Power BI, and AI-based analytics tools Experience in retail, grocery, or a similar industry is preferred
