Data Architect

The Data Architect, will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and managing our data infrastructure, data pipelines on Microsoft Azure and Databricks, define standards & best practices, work closely with Finance, Product Lines, Back Office, IBOs and Operations teams to ensure our data architecture and solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with business needs.

Essential Job Functions:
• Data Architecture Design: Design and implement efficient data pipelines and architectures using Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Databricks, and other Azure services.
• Data Integration: Develop, monitor, and maintain data pipelines to integrate data from multiple sources using Azure Data Factory, Databricks ensuring seamless data flow, maintain data quality and data integrity.
• Design and lead the adoption of Azure and Databricks standards & best practices.

• Data Model Design & Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain data architecture, data models, data catalog and data dictionary, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across the data warehouse and other systems.
• Monitor, enhance and automate housekeeping with Azure, Databricks Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights and enhance system health and performance. Optimize data storage, retrieval, and cost efficiency within Azure.
• Collaboration & Support: Partner with IT and business teams to translate business needs into efficient, scalable data architectures and solutions. Provide technical support during the deployment and maintenance of data applications and Integrations.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data needs, and provide value added data infrastructure and data product solutions.
• Maintain thorough documentation of data sources, data models, data pipeline and data artifacts to drive consistency and data integrity across systems. Work with IT leaders to enhance data governance and data quality framework and drive adoption.
• Stay current with the latest data and analytics technologies, recommending enhancements and new tools to drive innovation.
• Design and implement backup strategies using Azure Backup and Recovery Services. Develop and test disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years in cloud architecture, automation and cloud driven solution like Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, AWS and GCP.
• Deep expertise in Azure is required - Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure DevOps, Azure AI/ML, Azure AD, Databricks and other Azure data services.
• Expertise in optimizing data pipelines for performance and cost-efficiency.
• Proficiency in DevOps and CI/CD tools & process - Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Github Actions, Gitlab CI/CD , networking, security and data security best practices.
• Experience in Data life cycle management strategies and Master data management.
• Hands-on experience in scripting in Python, Poweshell, Bash, Go and in Azure Kubernetes services, Docker and container orchestration.
• Strong collaboration skills with a track record of working across IT and business teams.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Preferred: Microsoft certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator and other similar certifications.
