SUMMARY: This position assumes responsibilities involved in accomplishing the marketing mission of serving the needs of customers and communities, as well as the bank staff who serve the customers. This position will involve marketing, promotion, and strong public speaking, communication and interpersonal skills. This position involves a passion for philanthropy, community engagement, strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. This position requires local travel and attendance at after hours events on nights and weekends.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following are included with the understanding that other duties may be assigned, as necessary.
Work with the Marketing Manager on all charitable initiatives for Somerset Trust Company, the Event Coordinator on all bank wide and community events, and our Financial Education & Outreach Administrator on all educational presentations that we conduct within our footprint.
Attend meetings and events which will entail speaking in front of large crowds, students of all ages, and executive level officers from time to time with confidence and professionalism.
Assist with providing recommendations for levels of support for all donation and sponsorship requests that come into the bank from our network of branches, communities, and local organizations.
Collaborate and communicate cross-functionally with other departments where necessary. This includes but is not limited to; branch staff, back-office employees, charitable organizations, and 3rd party subscription companies.
Maintain record of any 501C3 non-profit organization letters that will be needed for tax purposes year to year.
Maintain, document and share a monthly survey report for our Mortgage and Home Equity teams, so they can track the loan service provided to our customers.
Coordinate and build donation baskets in bulk to keep on hand for raffles, and sponsorships. Strong attention to detail will be needed to ensure the baskets are cohesive and make sense for the event they are going to.
Assist the event coordinator with duties as needed. This includes but is not limited to; helping to keep our storage unit organized and clean. Helping with STC specific events as well as community events, such as branch openings, branch anniversaries, customer appreciation events, fairs, parades, and festivals.
Assist the Financial Education & Outreach Administrator with duties as needed. This includes but is not limited to; helping to build out lessons, compile presentation materials, and assist with education presentations to students of all ages.
Understand and support all BSA/AML responsibilities as applicable to the position as well as consistently, accurately, and timely carry out these responsibilities in compliance with the Bank's internal policies.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position requires no direct supervisory responsibilities of marketing personnel, however on-site supervision of staff will be required at special events and marketing functions related to your role.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE A Bachelor's or Associates degree in Marketing, Public Relations, or Communications is preferred. Comfortability in learning new systems and processes will be necessary for this role. Experience in dealing with the public and customers is essential. Previous banking experience is a plus to understand the different departments as well as products and services that marketing promotes.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as donation & sponsorship request letters and coordinating documents, bank policies and procedures, vendor agreements, and various correspondences. Ability to communicate well and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to write customer communications and press releases. Ability to proofread marketing materials, letters, communications, etc. Ability to be at ease when speaking with customers and non-customers for various reasons. Ability to build and foster relationships with co-workers within the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, quantity pricing, set-up fees, etc. Ability to work with marketing budget, estimating and monitoring month to month expenses versus budget.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
