RN, Urology (Healthcare)
Provides direct patient care within the ambulatory setting, based on the nursing process and within the role/scope of practice.
Maintains standards of care relevant to Uro-Oncology.
Evaluates unstable or complex patient care situations and facilitate appropriate intervention.
Implements appropriate clinical decisions and demonstrates appropriate use of expert peers and management as applicable.
Responsible for management of patient coordination, triage, and direct patient care.
Liaison of communication between nursing staff, providers, and clinic staff.
Supports patient self-management of disease.
Observes, records, and reports patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.
Educate patient/family about diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition, and maintenance of health and wellness.
Responsible for educational instruction to patients and families with health care needs.
Respond to/refer incoming patient treatment-related phone calls.
In providing patient care, documents using EMR to maintain and/or develop patient records in compliance with practice standards
Maintains patient confidentiality.
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS: This position may require additional hours outside the normal 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday work schedule and occasional travel throughout Central Arkansas.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: N/A
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, REGISTRATION:
ADN or BSN from an accredited College of Nursing
BLS Certified
Valid and current Arkansas state nursing license
Chemotherapy Certification (required within 90 days of employment)
Valid Arkansas Driver's License (if travel is required)
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
2-5 years clinical experience in direct patient care preferred
Maintain the required number of continuing education units (CEUs) as specified by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing
Excellent computer and other basic office equipment skills
Expertise in IV therapy skills and injections
Urology and Procedural experience preferred
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or scheduled form.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must interact and communicate both verbally and in written form.
Must interact and exchange information regarding patients with physicians and other departmental personnel, and outside agencies on a frequent basis while respecting the confidentiality of patient information.
