Internal Communications Specialist (Biotech)

Job Summary:
The Internal Communications Specialist will be part of the Communications team in Portsmouth, NH (US). In this role, this person will support help lead communications activities and manage both content and posting for internal communications channels, such as the global Intranet. This role sources cases and data from internal stakeholders and transforms them into engaging stories. This person will also support lead the implementation of local and global initiatives and projects as assigned by the Chief of Staff, in support of the local and Group Communications strategy and governance requirements (Corporate Design, Corporate Identity, Corporate Communication).
Key Responsibilities:
Communication Strategy: Support the development and implementation of an Steer the development and implementation of an effective Site Communications Strategy as an extension to the global business.Communications strategy and related focus points.
From Global to Local: Support the local deployment of global communications campaigns (e.g. Lonza Roadmap, LBMS, Quality, HR, etc.)
Local: Support the development and deployment of local communications campaigns (e.g. Townhalls, Events, EHS, Inclusion, Diversity and Belonging, CSR, etc.)
Planning: Create and maintain a yearly internal communications roadmap and assist with planning and budget.
Data: Track metrics and report out successes and lessons learned.
Intranet: Update and maintain the Portsmouth Intranet page (CoLab) and support work with departments to establish their Intranet pages.
Copy Editing: Write Create and edit content for internal communications channels (newsletters, intranet articles, digital signage, etc.).
Leadership Communication: Assist the Site Leadership team with local communications (Site Leadership Team) (e.g. Townhall Slide Decks, emails and articles).
Global Communications Network: Participate in the monthly global communications network calls; and regularly connect and align with Group Internal Communication.
Support the development and execution of internal communication.
Execute and develop internal communication campaigns: Based on the strategic and commercial priorities of the Lonza Portsmouth Site
Trends and Opportunities: Stay up to date on the latest employee communication trends and implement updates to the communications approach where relevant and appropriate, in alignment with Lonza Group communications.
MarCom: Coordinate and align with marketing professionals to produce copy for advertisements or articles.
Governance: Ensure application of Corporate Governance, Communications standards, processes and guidelines at the Portsmouth site.
External Communications: Coordinate with Lonza Group Communications regarding any activities that may be required to manage the profile and reputation of the site within its local community.
Other duties as assigned.
Key requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree is required. Communications, Journalism, or a closely related field is preferred but not required.
Proven copywriting, editing and proofreading skills, as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from employees.
Scientific writing experience a plus.
Technical affinity and hands-on experience with communication channels, such as Intranet (CMS),
SharePoint, digital screens, email newsletters, intranets, poster signage, etc.
Highly customer-oriented and ability to work effectively in a local and global team environment, with a
friendly and professional demeanor.
Able to successfully handle multiple complex projects simultaneously and prioritize accordingly.
Highly organized with a high degree of autonomy.
Flexibility and ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
Innovative, creative, and action-oriented thinking.
Working experience of Communications in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred.
