The Kitchenhand is responsible for all washing and cleaning duties, assisting with inventory and storing ingredients, as well as assisting the cook with food preparation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain the order and cleanliness of the kitchens facilities up to government and company sanitation standards
Clean all kitchen surfaces sweep and mop kitchen floor, put away dishes, pots, pans, organize food, clean out freezers and remove trash
Ensure all dishes are adequately sanitized by maintaining required water temperature and chemical levels
Wash and dry dishes, either by hand or using dishwasher, as well as polish silver
Assist cook with food preparation including but not limited to organizing refrigerator and freezer, chopping vegetables, washing fruit, defrosting meat, prepping sauces and marinades
Prepare full dishes such as salads per direction of supervisor
Available to work overtime when required
Other duties as assigned by Manager
Safety and Environmental Responsibilities
Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.
Wear proper personal protective equipment as required for the task or work area.
Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.
Technical and Physical Requirements
Customer service experience preferred
Previous restaurant experience a plus
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to bend, stoop, lift, rotate, reach
Ability to lift 50 pounds
