Staff, Supplier Development Engineer (On-site) (Finance)
Responsibilities
• The position is responsible for providing DFx (manufacturability, cost, sustainability, etc...) feedback to the R&D team for scalable component manufacturing.
• Assessing of new supplier to technical capabilities to manufacture Insult's components to meet our design and quality standards.
• Providing design feedback for plastics and metals processing to meet product design requirements and operational objectives.
• Ensure robust process design using analytical methods (FEA, Mold Flow, etc...) to determine optimal manufacturing methods for high volume production.
• Manage/lead suppliers through the design and construction of prototype and pilot tooling in the development phases of engineering programs.
• Advise team of supplier engineers and quality engineers as they investigate and improve supplier processes, deploy tools and equipment at supplier facilities, and introduction of new components to suppliers
• Drives continuous improvements activities to improve the cost, quality and delivery purchased components

Education and Experience
• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline. Masters degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years' work experience in a regulated industry
Additional Information
• The position is on-site . The preferred location is near Acton, MA
• Travel is estimated at 25% but will flex depending on business need.

Required Skills and Competencies
• Extensive knowledge of component manufacturing methods in plastics (injection molding and extrusion) and metals (machining, forming, coiling, stamping, etc..) for high volume tight tolerance manufacturing.
• Experience with component design, material selection and DFM methodologies for volume manufacturing of electromechanical assemblies
• Solidworks / Pro-E and one of SAS, JMP, or Minitab Expertise with
• Six Sigma Process Improvement Experience/Certification preferred DFMA, IQ/OQ/PQ, Six Sigma, Lean, DOE skills
• Working knowledge of MS Office, including Office Project software.
• Experience with continuous improvement methods and toolsets such as Six Sigma, DMAIC, Kaizen, CTQ and Critical Parameter Management. Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus.

Additional Information:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $114,075.00 - $171,112.50. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
