We are seeking a forward-thinking and people-oriented Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial strategy and operations with a blend of analytical rigor and exceptional leadership. This role requires a seasoned finance executive who not only brings deep expertise in financial planning, capital strategy, and risk management, but also excels in leading high-performing teams, driving cross-functional collaboration, and nurturing a positive and empowering organizational culture.
As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CFO will act as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board, contributing to the long-term vision and sustainable growth of the company. The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen with emotional intelligence, demonstrating the ability to influence, inspire, and build trust across all levels of the organization.
How will I contribute
Lead the organizations overall financial operations, providing expert direction on financial strategies, planning, policies, and procedures.Supervise all financial functions, including general accounting, cost accounting, financial planning, budgeting, and treasury functions.Ensure compliance with all federal, state (California), and local regulations, as well as best practices in non-profit financial management.Advise the CEO and Board of Directors on financial strategies, policies, and potential risks, aligning financial objectives with the organizations mission and goals.Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, cash flow, and accounts receivable reports.Provide detailed analysis of financial performance, highlighting variances from budget, forecasting future trends, and identifying opportunities or challenges in financial operations.Develop and present monthly financial statements to the CEO and Board of Directors, comparing actual performance to prior periods and forecasts.Collaborate with the CEO in the development of a rolling 3-year financial forecast in alignment with the organizations strategic plan.Ensure the maintenance and accuracy of all fiscal records, and supervise the preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other applicable financial standards.Oversee the management of the organizations cash flow, investments, and asset management, ensuring optimal use of financial resources.Implement approved accounting practices across the organization to ensure reliable and transparent financial reporting.Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of annual budgets, working closely with department heads to allocate resources effectively and align financial goals with operational needs.Provide financial assessments and recommendations for future growth opportunities, capital expenditures, and other initiatives from a fiscal perspective.Manage the long-term financial planning process, ensuring alignment with the organizations mission and goals, while ensuring sustainability and growth.Lead the organizations risk management strategy, including administering necessary insurance coverage to protect the organization from financial risk.Establish and enforce corporate financial policies and procedures to ensure the protection of assets and compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.Work in close collaboration with the CEO, senior management team, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment of financial and operational strategies with organizational objectives.Contributes to the development and maintenance of a positive, supportive work environment that promotes high staff morale, motivation, and commitment to the mission and values of the organization.Provide leadership in fostering a collaborative, transparent, and ethical culture within the finance team and throughout the organization.Represent Kings View in a professional manner where speech, conduct, and communication style is consistent with the belief that others deserve respect and unconditional positive regard. Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall functioning and success of the finance program.
What I bring
Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field10+ years of demonstrated experience as a CFO, finance director, or in a senior financial management role, ideally within a non-profit organization. A strong track record of ensuring compliance with California state and federal regulations is essential. Required experience includes managing cash flow, investments, and fiscal records, along with expertise in strategic financial planning and risk management. Having both for-profit and non-profit experience is preferred. Class C Driving LicenseExtensive knowledge of non-profit accounting, budgeting, and financial management principles, with a deep understanding of California's regulatory and compliance requirements for non-profits. Expertise in financial management for non-profits, including budgeting, forecasting, and compliance with both state and federal regulations. Proficiency in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial reporting, risk management, and strategic financial planning tailored to the non-profit sector. Proven experience in managing cash flow, investments, and maintaining accurate fiscal records.Demonstrated leadership ability with a track record of managing and mentoring finance teams. Expertise in financial planning, risk management, and strategic decision-making. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders, including the CEO and Board of Directors. Ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Must possess excellent communication skills, be able to present complex financial data clearly, and collaborate effectively with the CEO, Board, and staff to ensure financial health and compliance.Masters Degree or CPA with both non-profit and for-profit experience preferred.
