Logistics Rail & Ocean Operation Senior Manager (Government)
Job Description
Position Summary
This position is responsible for the company wide management of origin rail and ocean operations, including the efficient planning and execution of material hand off points, the development of methods, processes, and standards across the Beer Division, and providing tactical and strategic thought leadership into the broader Operations, Network Design, and Procurement functions. The position ensures planning and operational oversight of critical distribution functions and provides directional leadership across both internal and external stakeholders to deliver against corporate goals.
Responsibilities
Manage key rail and ocean operations covering over 75k railcar and 20k ocean container shipments per year across all CBI Brewery locations
Contribute industry subject matter expertise to network design, operational planning, and transportation quality across multiple stakeholder relationships
Lead and contribute to the annual fleet sizing and capital planning exercises
Ensure the effective planning and coordination of daily, weekly, and monthly shipment plans between Logistics and Brewery Operations
Understand and monitor Brewery finished goods inventory in relation to demand planning shipment needs
Primary authority contact for local and regional rail, ocean, and port operating partners
Manage a team of direct and indirect resources to ensure departmental and business goals are met
Monitors Mexican and US customs clearance and inspection processes to avoid in-transit delays, identifying and implementing solutions to issues with carriers, customs, and customs brokers
Serve as team lead for transportation carrier management for both inbound materials and outbound finished goods shipments
Ensure carrier equipment availability, mechanical condition, and loading requirements are compliant with CBI's standard and forecasts
Monitor and adjust performance measurement, in-transit dwell time, and damage prevention methods and processes supporting continuous improvement
Annually assess current and future functional requirements and ensure strategy meets the needs of the businesses
Collaborate with Operations, Commercial, Business Unit Management, and other internal and external stakeholders to identify future needs and design strategy to support these needs
Promote a culture of innovation through the TBA Logistics function by contributing thought leadership to the vision and communicating needs throughout the organization
Assess external best practices, tools, systems, and approaches and incorporate such into the Rail and Trade function
Ensure corporate standards, goals, strategies, and performance are appropriately cascaded through the Rail and Trade organization and are understood and supported
Provide oversight and input into future direction, priorities and needs of the TBA Logistics organization
Define roles and responsibilities, hire, coach, develop, train, and provide discipline when necessary for assigned resources
Actively participate on the operations leadership team and represent the interests of TBA Logistics across divisions, affiliates, and stakeholders
Participate in the talent review process and ensure appropriate actions are taken to meet company expectations with respect to recruiting, talent management, succession planning and people development
Reporting Relationship
This role will report to the Director, Transportation and Trade Compliance.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Science, or other related degree programs
10+ years of supply chain management experience
Proven track record in logistics and distribution network management, design, quality, and procurement
Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver complex, cross-functional supply chain initiatives on time and on budget
Seasoned SCM professional, knowledgeable in industry best practices
Experience in ERP (SAP), transportation management systems, and business intelligence platforms
Strong organizational skills and matrix influencing skills
Strong people management, development, and coaching experience
Champions best practice processes, tools, and customer service
Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate change management with colleagues and key internal and external stakeholders
Expertise in providing high levels of service within a complex customer-service oriented organization
Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiating skills, is perceptive and adaptable
Must be able to interface at all levels of the organization and with suppliers to solve problems when facing evolving demands
Proficiency in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or equivalent preferred
Beverage alcohol experience preferred

$108,600.00 - $169,900.00
This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. Our compensation is based on cost of labor. For remote locations or positions open to multiple locations, the pay range may reflect several US geographic markets, including the lowest geographic market minimum to the highest geographic market maximum. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, the prevailing minimum wage for the location, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
