Maintenance Mechanic (Maintenance)

Responsible for up-keep and maintenance of all production and facilities equipment to allow for maximum efficiencies within established quality and safety standards.
Schedule:
8am-4:30pm Monday- Friday rotating Saturdays
Responsibilities:
Must be able to perform minor and major repairs on all types of equipment, including but not limited to, packing/filling machines, cappers, labelers, seamers, case packers, case sealers, jar and case coders, mixers, heat exchangers, palletizers, de-palletizers, pallet wrappers, pumps and other various plant equipment.
Observes safety regulations, wears all required safety equipment, encourages safe working practices, correct obvious hazards immediately or reports them to supervisors/manager.
Adheres to company policies to include GMP's, LOTO, Machine Guarding, Electrical safety and more as directed by OSHA and B&G foods.
Adjusts configuration of production equipment according to production schedule.
Reports any food safety or quality issue to the SQ Practitioner, QA group or any other member of the food safety team
Completes work orders as assigned.
Aids in execution of the Maintenance schedule, conscious of products being run in production area.
Complies with all applicable standards such as USDA, FDA, relevant CFRs, GFSI, and other applicable customer requirements.
Adheres to the Premise and Equipment Program.
Adheres the Master Preventative Schedule.
Assures customer needs are met.
Trouble shoots equipment breakdown – mechanical.
Installation of new equipment.
Minimum Experience:
Minimum 3 years' Mechanical Experience in Food Manufacturing Environment.
Understanding of production and plant processes.
Experience in troubleshooting with some electrical knowledge.
Commitment to company goals and employee safety.
Willingness to work overtime if necessary.
Flexible, organized, and able to accurately work under time constraints and deadlines.
Welding ability a plus.
Able to operate forklifts, pallet trucks, scissor lift and one-person lift.
Skills and abilities:
Must be able to climb and work from ladders.
Must be able to bend and kneel to repair equipment.
Ability to communicate and deal effectively with team members at all organizational levels.
Ability to give and welcome feedback and contribute to building a positive team
Able to stand for 8 hours, comfortable with working on your feet.
Able to lift heavy weights

Full-time Hourly non-exempt/ Hourly Compensation Range $25-30 per hour
