The primary purpose for this position is to provide support to the Blood Cancer Healing Center (BCHC) within UCHealth. Employee will abstract demographic and clinical data from patient medical records, and enter data into databases as required. Employee performs quality control checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality of data. Employee completes work according to department schedule/calendar. Employee will audit records as directed, and provide back up for other employees within the department.
High School Diploma Required
1-3 years experience in medical or laboratory setting preferred.
Experience with oncology/hematology preferred.
Responsibilities:
Abstracts demographic and clinical data from patient records and inputs data into the database.
Prepares bi-weekly, monthly, and annual statistical reports.
Abstracts and retrieves data from the database for research projects, quality management, financial, and utilization studies.
Performs quality control checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality of data.
Audits patient records and databases.
Performs general office functions such as typing, utilizing spreadsheets for charts, graphs, and tables, and maintaining electronic file systems.
Provides back-up support for other employees.
Physical Activities:

Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
Kneeling: Bending legs at knees to rest on one or both knees.
