Regional Child Care Director (Personal Services)
Key responsibilities include hiring and supervising program staff, managing budgets, monitoring enrollment, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The director also builds strong relationships with school administrators, families, and community partners while supporting participant growth and fundraising efforts.
Additionally, this role involves staff development, program expansion, and data reporting, as well as representing the YMCA in regional committees focused on child care. A strong emphasis is placed on promoting youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility across all programs.
Thinks, communicates and behaves as a cause-driven leader and role model for other staff and members when it comes to desired staff behaviors; promotes youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility in all job-related functions.Hires and supervises all Area Directors within the assigned region. Ensures YMCA expectations for high quality programming are being met through routine program evaluation and assessment.Explores growth opportunities and expands programming in accordance with strategic and operating plans.Develops strategies to recruit, motivate and professionally develop staff. Reviews and evaluates staff performance.Develops, manages and controls budgets related to all assigned regional child care programming. Monitors enrollment and ensures the program operates within budget and that program fees are collected.Responsible for establishing and attaining goals set for new family membership sales among Y Club families and district partners.Monitors compliance of ODJFS licensing, SUTQ, NAEYC standards as they relate to all regional program areas. Ensures that all programs serving PFCC eligible students are scheduled to meet SUTQ standards. In addition, the RCCD will make sure that YMCA program standards (including HEPA) are met and safety procedures followed.Develops and maintains relationships with school administration, ODJFS, parent groups and other organizations and agencies related to assigned regional programs. Ensures that staff respond to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.Provides staff leadership for annual fund raising campaigns and committees as assigned.Maintains proper records/department files according to licensing, funders and YMCA.Represents assigned region by attending and participating in Program Innovation Team meetings and projects as well as serving as a representative on outside committees/councils related to child care i.e. Ohio Afterschool Network and Ohio Association of Child Care Providers.Responsible for compiling, reporting and recording program data and statistics weekly/monthly as requested. Monitors and evaluates the viability of assigned programs based on enrollment and attendance.Assists in the development of marketing strategies and the creation of program marketing tools.Develops regional program goals annually with input from staff, children and parents and the Association Services Youth Development team.Performs additional responsibilities in the branch/association as assigned (building coverage, special events, etc).If applicable, works with the ACCD to complete duties as required by the Child and Adult Care Food program for your region.
