The Forum Network Internship - Summer 2025 (Information Technology)

At GBH, we believe in the advantages of coming together to build community, mentor and learn from colleagues, and connect more deeply with our mission. As a result, the majority of our staff are hybrid and work both from home and onsite. Our current hybrid approach requires staff to work onsite a minimum of two days each week, every Tuesday and one other day, to be determined by their business unit. Hybrid staff are also welcome to come in additional days each week or may be asked to come in on other days by their manager.
DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
GBH's Forum Network serves the public with free, online access to video recordings of lectures and presentations captured in the Boston area, delivered by the world's foremost scholars, authors, artists, scientists, policymakers and community leaders.
Forum Network interns have access a wide array of activities and happenings inside GBH, where they can network and learn more about all kinds of media making. The internship provides the opportunity for a budding digital media producer and storyteller to participate in some of the best work public media has to offer.
JOB OVERVIEW
The Forum Network Internship will provide opportunities for students to learn about the many aspects of field recording, event production and digital media creation. The Forum Network Intern will learn camera work, video editing, and social media strategy to connect online learners to relevant, primary source interviews and lectures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Produce and edit content to post online, culling from incoming and archived lectures recorded around Boston
Write for the Forum Network newsletter
Work on social media campaigns
Develop video shooting and editing skills by covering talks from authors, academics and celebrity speakers
SKILL SET
Enthusiasm to create digital media (video and photo editing software a plus)
Social media savvy
A taste for public affairs and for learning online
Experience creating video
An eye for photography
Experience with video editing software and operation of HD cameras is a plus
JOB STATUS
Paid Internship $17/hour (Part Time 20 hours)
INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW
GBH internships provide students with valuable work experience and real-world knowledge across many different fields of study, from TV and radio production, to web design, accounting, law, and other administrative arenas.
INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Internship dates: June 9th to August 15th.
Candidates must have their own computer and access to Wifi.
Candidates must be in an Undergrad or Grad program and have work authorization for the United States.
