The Accounting and Payroll Specialist is responsible for performing accounting support services in accordance with company policy and Generally Accepted Accounting Principals and interacting with internal and external customers in a professional and ethical manner.
Primary duties revolve around the preparation of the weekly union payroll, which includes gathering time clock data from timekeeping systems, reviewing clockings for accuracy and proper approvals, calculating rate adjustments for temporary job assignments per contract specifications, managing garnishment and withholding information, tracking vacation hours, and protecting the confidentiality of employee personal information. Other support duties include preparing common balance sheet account reconciliations, posting journal entries into the Oracle ERP system, assisting in general AR and AP accounting functions, testing Sox controls, administrative participation in the annual physical inventory process, and other general accounting tasks as required.
Possess an Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience
