Overnight Camp Director - YMCA Camp Willson (Transportation)
Thinks, communicates and behaves as a cause-driven leader and role model for other staff and members when it comes to desired staff behaviors; promotes youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility in all job-related functions.
Assists with the development of the boards and/or committees. Directs the volunteer activities (policy and program) of the branch.
Assists with financial development activities of the assigned location; works to create and maintain a culture of philanthropy surrounding the Y.
Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Develops, maintains, and models collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery areas.
Oversees the hiring, training, and supervision of assigned staff and volunteers.
Assists in the development, management, and monitoring of the branch operating budget to meet or exceed budget targets.
Directly supervises assigned program / operational areas.
Assists with strategic planning efforts and in developing the annual operating plan of location.
Assists in developing and directing high quality relationship-based member or participant engagement strategies. Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions with staff, volunteers, members, and the community.
Fosters a climate of innovation to develop member or participant-focused programs which support the Y mission, goals, and strategies.
Ensures the safety and maintenance of high quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.
Assists with marketing and communication efforts to effectively communicate benefit to the community.
Serves as a member of Y management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages and coaches four to six program directors who supervise a total of up to 200 employees in the branch. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training and developing employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
